📍33E Triton Drive, Rosedale, Auckland 0632, Treats on Triton is a bakery that offers a variety of delicious treats. On my recent visit, I decided to try their butter chicken pie.
A Disappointing Experience
Arriving at the bakery at 8am, I purchased a butter chicken pie. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with my choice. The pastry was dry and lacked the freshness that I expected from a bakery. It seemed like the pie was leftover from the previous day.
An Unexpected Appearance and Taste
What surprised me even more was the color of the pie. Typically, butter chicken pies have a rich, golden-orange hue. However, this pie had a creamy white color. Despite this, the taste of the pie was not bad. I could detect hints of ginger and white pepper, but it didn’t quite capture the authentic flavor of butter chicken that I have experienced before.
Aside from the color and taste, the bottom part of the pastry had an unpleasant raw dough-like texture. I couldn’t determine whether it was due to improper reheating or if the gravy was too thick. Overall, I would rate this pie a 3.5 out of 5.
Despite my disappointment with the butter chicken pie, Treats on Triton offers a wide range of other treats that may be worth trying. It’s always good to explore different options and give other items on their menu a chance.
